Dressing Joe Burrow

“I usually grab it by the legs,” he says. He’s talking about the Heisman Trophy – a heavy award in every sense of the word.

In early July 2020, Hellman Retail Group journeyed to Burrow’s hometown of Athens, Ohio, to begin the important work of dressing Joe at the dawn of his pro football career. Together, we were creating “his look” at a time when all eyes will be upon him as the NFL’s top draft pick, so he was excited to try on the various brands we have available.
Before he even takes the field for his first game as the Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback, he’s already got a win under his belt – looking great in our tailored suits and sport coats from Canada's Coppley with dress shirts and accessories from Eton of Sweden.
“For all kinds of reasons, we’re honored to be dressing Joe,” says Chuck Hellman, owner and founder of Hellman Retail Group. “We’re a local business, and he’s coming from just up the road in Athens to represent our great city. Among all the players entering the NFL this year, he was an easy first choice for the Bengals. And everything you’ve heard about Joe is true: He’s a humble, hard-working, all-around nice guy who is destined to achieve great things here in Cincinnati. It’s going to be a fantastic relationship for all of us.”
Reflecting his national-champion reputation for careful preparation and flawless execution, Joe’s innate leadership showed throughout the process. He wanted to be totally involved in every detail of selecting his custom suits, sport coats and accessories, from choosing the patterns, linings and buttons to matching his personal style with the many combinations in his new wardrobe.

Burrow has set numerous NCAA, SEC & LSU records. He has become the most decorated player in LSU football history and only the second Heisman Trophy winner in school history.

“Joe’s a champion,” Chuck says, “and you’ll be able to tell by the way he plays, how he carries himself, and how he looks both on and off the field.”
